Plant Bio
Highly sought after for its unusual form, Philodendron Goeldii has long, finger-like leaves that form in a semi-circle pattern on the tall stems. It’s also commonly called Finger Leaf and the growth habit is similar to a Schefflera. Perfect for bright indirect light or a partially sunny location, it prefers humidity higher than 60%. It has recently been reclassified as Thaumatophyllum spruceanum.
Thaumatophyllum spruceanum is a relatively rare houseplant ???? that needs regular watering to thrive. They do best in abundant sunlight ☀ and should be less than 3 feet from a window.
Thaumatophyllum spruceanum likes soil that is well draining. Your plant shouldn't need added fertilizers if you repot each time it doubles in size.
Care
Like a lot of aroids, these will need a bright filtered light to really thrive. It is best to avoid any harsh direct sun! These can be fairly drought tolerant though you will usually want to water when the first 2" - 3" of soil is dry. This may roughly be every 7-10 days depending on your home environment. When repotting these will do best in a coarse soil that will drain water well. We recommend a nice kiwi bark heavy mix for these as they have fleshy roots and love that aeration!
